HONDA Malaysia has just launched the facelifted City, its best-selling model in Malaysia, next to the Honda kapchais. The updated City comes in two variants, S Grade at RM85,980 (basic spec) and the premium E Grade at RM90,980. Nothing has been done to the mechanicals and the engine is still the same 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine that is good for 120hp at a lofty 6,600rpm and 145Nm at 4,800rpm.

The new items include new bumpers (front and back), a bolder chromed front grille and new tail lights. The interior receives minor changes too – new graphics for the meter displays and the ECO light to help you drive economically. The top specced E Grade receives 16-inch wheels (the Grade S carries 15-inch wheels), leather wrapped steering with audio repeater buttons, chromed tail pipes, paddle shifters, the all important foldable side mirrors with LED turn lights and a few other additions.

If those are not enough, just bring over your cheque book and install official Modulo bodykit (RM2,950) and the Honda Connex SVR (a recovery system) worth RM3,660. As mentioned earlier, Honda Malaysia is now giving a five-year unlimited mileage warranty to the new City, plus six free labour services up to 100,000km.

We heard the next new model will see Honda Malaysia changing from its ancient 5,000km service interval to the industry standard 10,000km interval.
